The water main and lateral line replacement project on Buckboard Drive, previously scheduled to begin October 7, has been postponed.
Although the project had previously received approval to move forward, Summit County notified Gorgoza Mutual Water Company on October 6 that approval to begin construction at this time has been withdrawn due to approaching colder weather and concerns about beginning the project this late in the construction season.
The County determined that changing weather conditions, including the possibility of snow and freezing temperatures, could create safety concerns during construction.
As a result, construction will not begin as previously scheduled. We are now planning to begin the replacement project in early spring, possibly as early as April, weather permitting. Additional information and advance notice will be provided once a new start date has been confirmed.
In the meantime, we are hopeful that the existing water lines will remain in service through the winter. If additional water line breaks occur before the replacement project begins, our crews will continue to respond and make necessary repairs as quickly as possible.
We apologize for the late change in plans and any inconvenience or confusion this may cause. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
